How an authentic Harbour 2nd bag is made.
Our most experienced team members inspect each hide in its natural state and select the finest pieces for your favorite model. At this stage, the leather is still completely natural and not yet dyed in your favorite color – and that is exactly what will make the decisive difference later!
The leather is now cut to size and your bag is completely stitched. The distinctive metal fittings and inner lining are already in place. Other bags would be finished now, but for us…
…this is where the real transformation begins: Your bag is washed as a whole in a specially developed process, giving it its final shape – always unique and unmistakable! At the same time, the color is literally "washed" into the leather. Only through this elaborate process do the cut edges of the leather retain their wonderful, natural contrast. That is exactly how you recognize a genuine Harbour 2nd immediately!
Once your bag has dried naturally in the sunlight, it is carefully finished by hand to create the unmistakable Harbour 2nd look. Only then is it ready to become your own one-of-a-kind piece.
Fascinating India
Our bags are produced in a country that has a long and proud tradition of leatherworking: India. After an intensive search, we found partners there who share our philosophy and are perfectly attuned to our special production process.
It is our top priority that the materials and production meet the highest European standards. Naturally, all our bags comply with the strict requirements of the REACH regulation and are therefore absolutely free of prohibited harmful substances.
Furthermore, we meticulously ensure that all local employees work under fair and socially responsible conditions. We regularly verify this through the relevant certifications. Sustainability and fair working conditions are not empty promises for us, but a matter very close to our hearts.
